10 Tips To Stress Less

October is Mental Health Month, and the Mental Health Association of New South Wales has produced a “10 Tips To Stress Less” poster, along with postcards and email signatures.  The tips are:

  • Share something that makes you laugh
  • Swim in the ocean
  • Remember we all make mistakes
  • Say no when you need to
  • Cook a meal from scratch
  • Tell someone you love them
  • Play your favourite song
  • Do more of what’s important to you
  • Be proud of who you are
  • Celebrate when things go well

They’ve also released the following video to highlight an everyday example of how we can get caught up in stress and take it out on our loved ones:

What are some of your favourite ways to de-stress?  Is “de-stress” a word even in your vocabulary?  Some stress is good for you because it motivates you to take action. However when stress undermines both your mental and physical health, it can cause significant distress and interfere with you living your everyday life.
